Job summary

St John's College, part of Ambitious about Autism, is seeking a Work Experience and Employability Coordinator to plan and deliver internal work experience sessions and help learners access meaningful external placements that match their interests and strengths.

You will work with colleagues across the college and with local employers to create positive experiences that prepare autistic learners for life beyond education, with a focus on developing employability skills.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with autistic people and/or people with learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, learners and employers.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering internal work experience sessions.
  • Supporting learners to develop workplace skills and confidence.
  • Coordinating external work experience opportunities with Employability Manager.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local employers.
  • Monitoring learner progress and contributing to reviews.
  • Maintaining work experience environments (e.g., College Print Shop).
