What you'll do:
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP/FRS102 standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance for a wide variety of clients.
  • Report directly to audit managers or partners, taking responsibility for planning and executing audits across different client types and sizes in line with International Auditing Standards.
  • Manage audit assignments efficiently by working within set budgets and ensuring timely completion of all projects.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients throughout the audit process to ensure expectations are understood and met at every stage.
  • Supervise audit trainees both on-site and remotely by reviewing their work, providing constructive feedback, supporting their learning journey, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate effectively with colleagues across departments to deliver seamless service to clients from initial engagement through final reporting.
  • Identify areas for process improvement during audits and share insights with the wider team to enhance overall quality standards.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and filed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Support the ongoing training of junior staff by sharing knowledge and best practices in technical accounting matters.
  • Contribute positively to the team's inclusive culture by participating in group discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous professional development activities.
What you bring:
  • Hold ACA or ACCA qualification (ideally achieved with first-time passes) gained through training within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in auditing a wide range of clients across various industries including commercial enterprises and not-for-profit organisations.
  • Show proficiency in preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP/FRS102 as well as familiarity with International Auditing Standards.
  • Exhibit dependable organisational skills that enable effective planning, delegation of tasks, and management of multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Display excellent interpersonal abilities that foster positive relationships within teams as well as with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills essential for clear reporting and client interaction throughout audit engagements.
  • Bring previous supervisory experience including leading audits both on-site and remotely while mentoring junior staff members.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity towards deadlines by consistently delivering high-quality work within agreed timeframes without compromising accuracy or compliance.
