Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Acting as the senior fieldwork team member on audit engagements, undertaking complex and technical audit work.
• Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members, ensuring quality and deadlines.
• Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to students and junior staff.
• Preparation of statutory accounts from trial balance, including audit adjustments and disclosures.
• Drafting management letters with recommendations for improvements to systems, controls and governance.
• Acting as a key client contact, building professional relationships.
• Attending client meetings including Audit Committees and Board meetings.

Job description

Our client, a well established, highly regarded and most progressive medium sized CA Firm, who continue to expand, seek to recruit a suitably experienced Audit Senior to join their successful Audit team.

You will be CA/ACA/ACCA QUALIFIED, with up to c2 years PQE gained from another UK Accountancy Firm able with current/recent proven audit senioring experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members with a client focused and flexible 'can do ' approach.

Taking responsibility for leading audits from planning through to completion, working with clients of varying size and complexity, you will act as a key point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

You will also play an important role in supervising and supporting junior team members, providing on-the-job guidance, reviewing work, and contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment. Working closely with managers, directors, and partners, you will help ensure audit quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to students and junior staff, supporting their professional development and exam progression.
• Preparation of statutory accounts from trial balance, including audit adjustments and ensuring appropriate financial statement disclosures.
• Drafting management letters with clear recommendations for improvements to systems, controls, and governance.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Attending and contributing to client meetings, including Audit Committees and Board meetings where required.
• Taking ownership of audit quality, ensuring compliance with auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and firm methodologies.
• Supporting managers and partners with proposals, sales, and business development activity where appropriate.

Broad audit or audit/accounts experience gained from another UK Accountancy Firm is required with strong ISA UK auditing standards and UK GAAP (FRS 102).
