Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to support the delivery of high-quality audit engagements. You will complete testing, prepare financial statements, assist with planning and completion work, and work closely with senior team members across a diverse client portfolio.

The role offers flexible working and hybrid options in the Greater Manchester area, with opportunities to advance and gain substantial client exposure while developing technical and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for a range of clients.
• Perform audit testing across financial statement areas and document audit evidence to a high standard.
• Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
• Support the team in identifying audit risks and recommending improvements.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, demonstrating professionalism and customer service.
• Coach and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with Audit Seniors, Managers and Partners to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Description

• Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for a range of clients across different sectors
• Perform audit testing across financial statement areas and document audit evidence to a high standard
• Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
• Support the team in identifying audit risks and recommending improvements
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, demonstrating professionalism and exceptional customer service
• Coach and mentor junior team members
• Work collaboratively with Audit Seniors, Managers and Partners to ensure high‑quality service delivery and timely completion of assignments

Profile

• Part‑qualified or newly qualified ACA / ACCA
• Previous experience working in external audit within a UK accountancy firm
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn and take on responsibility
