Job summary

RSM UK is seeking school/college leavers to join our External Audit apprenticeship. You will work with audit colleagues to perform risk-focused reviews and help ensure the accuracy of financial statements.

You will start studying toward the Chartered Accountant qualification as soon as you join and take your first exams within the first few months. Training includes an online portal and structured development, with a mix of office-based and client-site work.

Qualifications

• 112 UCAS points across three A levels (or equivalent level 3 qualification)
• 104 UCAS points across four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or Irish Leaving Certificate
• Existing permanent right to live and work in the UK
• Effective written and verbal communication to convey complex information
• Ability to analyse and interpret data to solve problems
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• Willingness to travel to client sites and other offices

Responsibilities

• Join from day one as part of a team, progressing to individual responsibility on projects.
• Collaborate with audit clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large groups and not-for-profits.
• Study toward the Chartered Accountant qualification and complete initial exams with support.

You’ll work with audit colleagues to conduct thorough, risk-focused reviews of clients’ financial records, processes, and controls. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and building trust and confidence among stakeholders.

You’ll start studying towards your Chartered Accountant qualification as soon as you join, and within the first few months you’ll have taken your first exams. Don't worry—you won't be doing it alone; we’ll be with you every step of the way.

You’ll make an impact by:

• Becoming a key member of our team from day one, getting involved in client work quickly, initially as part of a larger team, before taking on individual responsibility for projects.
• Working with a wide variety of clients, ranging from owner managed businesses to large listed groups as well as charities, pension schemes and other not-for-profit organisations.

You’ll predominantly be office based or at a client site, giving you the chance to build strong relationships with colleagues and get the support you need in the early stages of your career.

• A willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required.

Please note, RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
