Job summary

HaysMac in London is offering an Audit Associate apprenticeship that combines practical audits with study towards the ACA qualification. You’ll work with a diverse client base, testing transactions and building confidence in financial reporting from day one.

You will be part of our social purpose team, learn on the job with a dedicated line manager and buddy, and gain exposure to charities and owner‑managed businesses while developing technical skills and professional judgement.

Qualifications

• 120 UCAS points predicted or obtained from your top 3 A-Levels or equivalent
• B at Maths GCSE

Responsibilities

• Test financial transactions (e.g. invoices, payments and receipts)

Job Description

Audit is about providing independent assurance that financial statements are accurate and reliable. As an Audit Associate, you will help organisations build trust in their financial reporting, supporting better decision-making for stakeholders.

From day one, you will be part of our social purpose team, gaining exposure to charities and purpose-driven organisations, and building an understanding of how they operate and create impact.

What you’ll be doing

As an Audit Associate, you will work as part of a team delivering high-quality audits. Your responsibilities will include:

• Testing financial transactions (e.g. invoices, payments, and receipts)
• Reviewing financial data to identify risks or inconsistencies
• Preparing audit working papers and documenting findings
• Supporting seniors and managers throughout the audit process
• Attending client meetings and building relationships with client teams
• Working both in the office and on client sites

You will gain exposure to a wide range of clients and industries, developing both your technical knowledge and professional skills.
