Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is recruiting a graduate trainee for the Mid-Market Audit team in Scotland. You will work with a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses, gaining hands-on client experience while studying towards a professional qualification.

You’ll develop technical and commercial skills, using the latest audit technology and data analytics tools, with exposure to various industries and enhanced opportunities to build trust and report on financial information from day one.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent.
• Achieved or predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points from top three A Levels, BTECs, Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or other Level 3 qualifications.
• Context around exceptional circumstances considered as part of the application.

Responsibilities

• Support audit engagements by testing financial information and reviewing evidence to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze financial data to understand business operations, risks and key findings.
• Use audit technology, AI-powered tools and data analytics to interpret large data volumes and enhance insights.
• Research accounting and auditing standards and apply them to client situations.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues, gathering information and contributing to meetings and reports.
• Develop technical expertise and client relationships with increasing responsibility.

What you’ll work on:

• Support audit engagements by testing financial information and reviewing evidence to help ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant.
• Analyse financial data to understand how businesses operate, identify risks and highlight key findings.
• Use audit technology, AI-powered tools and data analytics to interpret large volumes of data, identify trends, enhance insights and improve audit quality.
• Research accounting and auditing standards and help apply them to client situations in a practical way.
• Work closely with clients and colleagues, gathering information, responding to queries and contributing to meetings and reports.
• Collaborate with specialists across Audit, Tax and Advisory teams to gain a broader understanding of client challenges and solutions.
