Audit Manager
TPF Recruitment, a mid‑tier firm of Chartered Accountants headquartered in Reading, is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their Audit & Assurance team.
Your responsibilities will encompass the proficient management of a substantial client portfolio, including meticulous planning of assignments, adept briefing of staff on client intricacies, ensuring adherence to auditing standards, and surpassing both client and statutory deadlines with finesse. Additionally, you will spearhead advisory engagements, enhancing the firm’s service line.
Responsibilities
- Oversee assignments in alignment with client procedural standards, confirming arrangements with clients including cost estimations and billing.
- Uphold audit quality as paramount, actively engaging in internal and external quality assurance endeavors.
- Provide comprehensive briefings to staff on client nuances and pre‑assignment directives, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure assignments are completed within budgetary constraints, promptly addressing any significant points with the assignment partner and client.
- Cultivate robust client relationships, embodying the ethos of excellent client service throughout all interactions.
- Foster cross‑departmental collaboration to fulfil diverse client needs, leveraging the firm’s specialist services where applicable.
- Maintain a keen eye on technical advancements, staying abreast of industry developments through continuous professional development.
- Harness your business acumen to identify new opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and engaging in client presentations.
- Assume a mentoring role, providing guidance to students and/or seniors within the team.
Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualification is essential.
- Demonstrated experience at the managerial level in a similar capacity.
- Proven ability to manage client portfolios and nurture enduring client relationships.
- Extensive audit experience delivering high‑quality audits.
- Familiarity with auditing within the SME sector is advantageous.
- Charity sector experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- A penchant for business development activities is highly regarded.
