Following an exciting service restructure, we are seeking an experienced Future-focused Audit Manager to join our new, dedicated audit team. This team will work in close collaboration with our established Internal Audit and Investigations teams. Together, we're building a dynamic, forward-thinking service that plays a vital role in supporting not only the Council but also a wide range of valued external clients.

As the Audit Manager, you will:

  • Leading a portfolio of internal audit work, driving improvement and adding value to the Council and our external clients.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Developing and delivering risk-based audit plans that reflect strategic priorities.
  • Ensure audit reports are clear, concise, and impactful.
  • Provide expert advice on complex or contentious issues.

What we're looking for:

  • A qualified and experienced audit professional with full membership of a CCAB body or the Institute of Internal Auditors, and a strong track record in managing internal audit services across diverse clients or complex organisations.
  • A confident leader who can inspire and develop a team, manage resources effectively, and uphold high standards of performance.
  • A fantastic communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and deliver clear, insightful audit reports that drive improvement.
