Red Snapper Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Audit Manager to work on a full-time contract with MOPAC (Mayors Office for Policing and Crime).

This is a hybrid working role, with requirements to travel to offices and client sites in London and elsewhere.

The role is paying £37.79p per hour (PAYE).

It's a six-month temporary contract initially, with the potential for extension.

Role Overview

We are recruiting for a new Audit Manager position as part of a wider organisational restructure. The role will support Group Audit Leads and manage audits across multiple public sector clients, including MOPAC, GLA, Met Police, and LFB.

This is a hands‑on management role requiring strong internal audit expertise and the ability to lead small teams while delivering complex audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver client audit plans.
  • Lead small teams (typically 2-3 auditors) and provide guidance.
  • Undertake complex audits personally, alongside management duties.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across diverse public sector organisations.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards and adapt to changing organisational needs.
Essential Requirements
  • Internal Audit Experience: Proven track record in internal audit within large, complex organisations.
  • Chartered status via the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or relevant credential.
  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA).
  • Public Sector Experience: Mandatory, ideally with exposure to transformation audits.
  • Management Skills: Ability to lead small teams while remaining hands‑on.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Ability to work in politically sensitive environments with budget constraints.
