Job description
We are recruiting for an Audit & Financial Reporting Manager

On behalf of a successful, dynamic accountancy practice that has been going through a period of ongoing growth, the successful candidate will be part of this continued growth.

This is a client facing role that requires building strong relationships with clients and team members. As Audit & Financial Reporting Manager, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of audit clients, coordinate the team and review work, manage deadlines and advise on technical queries.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Audit & Financial Reporting Director on audit assignments
  • Plan audits with the RI and Senior, assessing risk and guiding the level of testing required
  • Take lead on audits and be the client point of contact, ensuring the team meets agreed deadlines
  • Oversee the audit plan, ensuring the team is on target each day, and provide supervision of the wider team and assist with on‑site presence
  • Review the files and provide feedback to the team
  • Conduct closing meeting with the client, brief head of department and consult RI on key audit judgements
  • Provide on‑job training to junior staff, mentor and develop the team's knowledge
  • Support RI and directors with managing the audit department and preparing reports for the firm's Annual Return to ICAEW
Qualifications
  • Qualified ACA or ACCA with wide experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Extensive post‑qualified audit experience
  • Experience of charity and academy audits is an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Exceptional client relationship skills
  • Great project management skills
  • Considerable experience in managing teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
