Job description

One of the UK’s leading mid-tier accountancy firms is looking to expand its Audit team with a fully qualified Assistant Manager hire. This role has come about off the back of continued organic growth and offers a strong platform for a newly qualified Senior Associate ready to step up, or an existing Assistant Manager seeking a move to a more dynamic and progressive environment.

The firm works with a diverse client base across a broad range of industries covering sectors technology and media through to manufacturing and hospitality. Client sizes will also be greatly varied in size from SMEs to larger sized clients. The ideal candidate will be sector-agnostic and comfortable servicing clients across a variety of business types and sizes.

This is a client-facing role with a strong emphasis on audit delivery, team leadership, and quality assurance. While primarily audit-focused, the position may also involve a small proportion of accounts and other non-audit assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing training, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout engagements.
  • Ensure audits are completed within budget and deadlines, managing client expectations effectively.
  • Review accounts and other non-audit related work as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • ACA or ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Demonstrable audit experience gained within a UK-based practice across a range of client sizes and sectors
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
