Job summary

Michael Page in Birmingham is seeking a senior leader to manage a sizeable audit and accounts portfolio, guiding engagements from planning through sign-off and delivering high-quality service.

You will work with senior leadership, develop the team, support business growth, manage budgets, and build strong client relationships across sectors.

Responsibilities

• Manage a sizeable portfolio of audit and accounts clients across multiple sectors.
• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion and final sign-off review.
• Review statutory accounts prepared under relevant accounting standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and maintain strong commercial relationships.
• Provide strategic advice and support to business owners and senior stakeholders.
• Manage engagement budgets, deadlines and resource allocation.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Support Partners with complex client matters and practice growth objectives.

This is a key leadership role, offering responsibility for a substantial client portfolio, team development and the delivery of both audit and accounts services to a varied client base. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, oversee complex assignments and play an active role in supporting the continued growth of the practice.

• Manage a sizeable portfolio of audit and accounts clients across multiple sectors

Profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Proven experience operating at Manager or Senior Manager level within practice
• Strong technical knowledge of audit and financial reporting requirements
• Experience managing a substantial client portfolio and leading complex engagements
