An established Devon based accountancy firm are looking for an Audit and Accounts Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

The Role

You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, from SME’s to charitable organisations to the whole agricultural sector, leading audits from planning to completion, preparing financial statements, and overseeing corporation tax compliance. Working closely with Partners, you’ll help deliver high-quality, tailored advice all year round — not just at year-end.

In addition, you’ll play an important role in coaching junior team members, contributing to internal reporting and helping drive continuous improvement across the practice.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and complete audit assignments from planning through to sign-off
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and corporation tax returns
  • Develop strong, trusted client relationships through responsive and proactive service
  • Review the work of junior team members and provide mentoring and feedback
  • Maintain accurate records and manage billing requirements
  • Represent the firm at networking and business development events
Requirements
  • Experienced in audit within a practice environment
  • A confident communicator with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Passionate about developing others and supporting team growth
  • Excellent knowledge of the Southwest region and comfortable with face to face client meetings
