Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with an established accountancy practice in Romford, Essex, to recruit an Audit & Accounts Senior. The role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio with a mix of audit and accounts work and opportunities to advance within a supportive, client-focused team.

You will prepare year-end statutory accounts, manage audit assignments, and help with tax computations while developing strong relationships with clients and junior staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong accounts preparation experience.
• Previous audit experience.
• Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and relevant legislation.
• Experience preparing corporation tax computations.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Good communication and client relationship skills.
• The ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients.
• Preparing management accounts and financial information.
• Planning and carrying out audit assignments.
• Completing audit fieldwork and documenting audit evidence.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Supporting the preparation of personal tax returns where required.
• Reviewing accounts and audit work prepared by more junior members of the team.
• Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries.
• Identifying areas for improvement and providing commercially focused advice.
• Supporting junior team members with their development.
• Managing your workload effectively to meet client and statutory deadlines.

Education

AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or equivalent experience
