Key Responsibilities
- Pure Tone Audiometry: Conduct precise and accurate hearing tests.
- Full Masking: Perform comprehensive masking procedures.
- Comprehensive Adult Hearing Rehabilitation Service: Includes first assessments, hearing aid fitting, and individual care plan development.
- Rehabilitation Advice: Offer guidance to patients and carers.
- Diagnostic Procedures: Perform tests during ENT clinics for children.
- Support Specialist Audiologists: Assist with cases as required.
- Professional Development: Maintain and document your growth.
Systems to be Used
- Auditbase: Audiology clinical system
- Careflow: Hospital's main PAS system
- Big Hand: Digital dictation for reporting
- Kiosk: For outcoming patient attendances
Duties to include
- Conduct first assessments following guidelines and protocols.
- Develop and implement individual patient treatment plans.
- Fit the most appropriate hearing aid using real ear measurements.
- Provide advice on assistive listening devices and refer to other agencies as needed.
- Fine-tune hearing aids to meet patient requirements.
- Identify patients needing additional rehabilitation and refer them to a specialist Audiologist.
- Assist with vestibular assessments and operate related equipment.
- Perform timely diagnostic tests during ENT clinics.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient notes and information.
- Understand patient pathways and maintain accurate waiting list data.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Relevant degree in Audiology or equivalent with completed clinical placements
- Experience with paediatric patients
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to travel across the North Lincolnshire area
