Role

Operations Manager - AV Engineering & Project Delivery

South East England | Office-based

£45,000 - £65,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We're supporting an award winning AV systems integrator with over 50 years of success delivering cutting edge audiovisual solutions for global brands, corporate offices, and retail environments.

They're now seeking an Operations Manager to take ownership of engineering resource planning and project logistics, ensuring projects are efficiently staffed, schedules are tight, and teams are set up for success.

This isn't a warehouse or stock based operations role. It's about people, planning, and precision, managing the lifeblood of project delivery: the engineers, their time, and how they're deployed across multiple client rollouts.

Role Purpose

You'll be at the heart of the business the hub where engineering, project management, and leadership connect. Working closely with the Engineering Director, you'll oversee scheduling, resourcing, and delivery coordination for complex, multi-site AV installations.

You'll be the person ensuring the right engineers are in the right place, at the right time, across several simultaneous projects, sometimes planning hundreds of engineering days over a short period for major rollouts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering resource scheduling across multiple UK and international AV projects.
  • Plan, forecast, and allocate engineer time, balancing client deadlines, rollout phases, and team availability.
  • Coordinate large scale rollout programs (e.g. 600+ engineering days over 3 months for a single client).
  • Manage daily and weekly logistics for field teams. Travel, accommodation, site coordination, and handovers.
  • Act as the central operations point, a key communication hub for project managers, engineers, and leadership.
  • Maintain and improve operational processes for consistency, accuracy, and scalability (ISO9001 desirable).
  • Monitor utilisation, delivery timelines, and project efficiency KPIs.
  • Support procurement and supplier liaison where relevant (equipment, subcontractors, etc.).
  • Provide reporting and operational insights to senior leadership for ongoing process improvement.
About You
  • 5-10 years' experience in operations or resource management within an engineering, installation, or technical project environment.
  • Proven experience scheduling, planning, and coordinating field engineers or technical staff (not warehouse or logistics teams).
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills, able to manage multiple rollouts and clients simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of how AV or technical engineering projects are delivered, even if you're not hands-on.
  • Confident communicator, this is an office based role where around 30% of your success comes from what you hear and pick up around the ops desk.
  • Skilled with scheduling and project planning software, Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Calm under pressure, methodical in approach, and naturally collaborative.
What's On Offer

£55,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience).

Full-time, permanent position with a highly respected AV systems integrator.

Key operational leadership role with direct impact on project delivery success.

Work closely with senior leadership, shaping operations strategy and scaling delivery.

Exposure to complex, high-profile AV projects across UK and international sites.

Opportunity to lead process improvements and drive efficiency across engineering delivery.

How to Apply

If you're a highly organised operations professional experienced in engineering or technical project environments, who thrives on planning, scheduling, and keeping delivery teams moving efficiently, this is the perfect opportunity.

Send your CV via the recruiting partner, shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Direct applications to the company are not accepted.
