Qualifications

Overview

Job Introduction: Due to continuing growth, we are recruiting for Vehicle Technicians to join Listers Audi Birmingham. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00, 40-hour week (1 in 3 Saturday mornings, averages out at 41.5 hours per week). Our packages and new pay plans are industry-leading and reflective of each applicant's experience and skillset.

Salary: The basic salaries start from £30,000 up to £42,000. Bonus / OTEs range from £38,000 up to £48,000 (Bonus uncapped).

We are ideally looking for Service Technicians with Volkswagen Group experience but will consider all applications if you hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Role and Responsibilities
  • Servicing, repair and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standard first time.
  • Electrical and mechanical repairs including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts and air conditioning servicing.
  • Additional responsibilities may include repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles, using electronic diagnostic equipment and focusing on batteries, drive motor, auxiliary drive pack & control systems.
  • Ability to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  • Understand Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
  • Operate additional systems such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
  • Complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with other workshop team members to continually learn and share knowledge.
About you
  • Experience in the Automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic/Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or working towards.
  • Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification or certification would be advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • MOT License would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • Demonstrate good mechanical and electrical knowledge and an ability to ensure all work is carried out to a high standard; training and facilities provided to support career progression.
