Job summary

The Ruth Gorse Academy, part of The GORSE Academies Trust in Leeds, seeks a dedicated Attendance Officer to promote attendance and punctuality and support students to achieve their potential.

You will monitor attendance data, develop intervention plans, and work with families, pastoral leaders and external agencies to remove barriers to attendance. A proactive, compassionate approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence.
• Experience with young people, ideally in a secondary school.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for students, parents, colleagues and external agencies.
• Strong understanding of attendance processes and safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Promote excellent attendance and punctuality across the academy.
• Monitor attendance data and support intervention strategies.
• Conduct home visits where required and liaise with families to remove barriers to attendance.
• Work with pastoral leaders and external agencies to improve student outcomes.
