Job summary

Qteg is seeking an Attendance Officer in Islington to monitor and improve student attendance using SIMS. The role is long-term and starts ASAP, with daily rates of £105–£140. You will join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Islington on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will track attendance patterns, liaise with parents and staff, and support strategies to maximise attendance and punctuality across KS3 and KS4.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a secondary school.
• Experience using SIMS to monitor attendance.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Confident communication with parents, carers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student attendance and punctuality across KS3 and KS4 using SIMS.
• Follow up on unexplained absences and contact parents.
• Record reasons for absence and maintain accurate attendance registers.
• Produce attendance reports and support attendance meetings.
• Collaborate with Heads of Year and pastoral staff to improve attendance.
• Contribute to strategies to reduce persistent absence.
