Job Title: Attendance Officer

Actual Annual Salary: £27,362 - £29,850 (Based on hours and working weeks)

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £31,954 - £34,860 (CLF Grade D, based on full time working All Year Round)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday / Term Time only including insets

Provisional Start Date: 23 February 2026

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Attendance Officer to help raise achievement by promoting excellent attendance and punctuality across our academy. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with staff, students, and families to foster a positive attendance culture, monitor patterns, and take action to ensure every student has the best chance to succeed. You’ll maintain accurate legal records, meet strict deadlines, and collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver measurable impact. If you’re highly organised, an exceptional communicator, and committed to supporting young people, this is your opportunity to play a key role in shaping their future!

About you
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills evidenced by English and Maths GCSEs or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of the range of issues that can affect a student’s attendance and a willingness to keep up to date with developments in this area
  • Full driving licence and access to vehicle with business insurance
  • Previous relevant experience working in an administrative or similar organisational setting
  • A good understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting or transferable knowledge of safeguarding
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to build positive relationships with academy staff, students, and external organisations
