Attendance Lead

Woolmer Hill School, an 11‑16 Academy with 900 students.

We are seeking an organised, ambitious, self‑motivated, passionate member of staff to join our student support team. This key role works with senior staff to promote excellent attendance, reducing levels of absence, and supporting children and families.

Key responsibilities
  • Collecting, recording, monitoring and reporting attendance and punctuality data.
  • Supporting the school to improve attendance levels and reduce persistent absence.
  • Leading strategies to improve attendance in partnership with senior staff and the Surrey Inclusion Officer.
  • Line‑managing the part‑time Attendance Administrator.
  • Working closely with Heads of Year, welfare and learning support teams.
  • Liaising with staff, parents, and external agencies; holding meetings with parents when attendance is a concern.
Expectations and requirements
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, resilience and high expectations of self and others.
  • Energy, drive, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with young people in a school or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with students and parents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new software (e.g. Arbor MIS).
  • High level of education.
  • Availability for 34.17 hours over 5 days per week, term time only (39 weeks) 8:30 am–4:00 pm with a 40‑minute unpaid lunch break.
