Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking a 16-18 Attendance Officer to support students with regular attendance, identify barriers to attendance and provide encouragement and practical support to stay engaged in learning. You will work closely with curriculum teams, students and parents/carers, monitor attendance patterns, and escalate issues following College procedures.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people and communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally and maintain accurate records.
• Confident, organised, and able to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review student attendance and identify emerging concerns.
• Work proactively with students to address barriers to regular attendance.
• Communicate with students, parents/carers and staff about attendance concerns.
