Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking a Welsh-speaking swimming teacher to join our Powys area team. You will teach both group and individual swimming lessons, guided by your qualifications and training.

A DBS check is required, and a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles for the community is essential. We welcome applicants who can communicate fluently in Welsh and English, and who are enthusiastic about customer service and safety in the pool environment.

Qualifications

• Welsh language is essential.
• DBS check required prior to appointment.
• Level 2 swimming teaching qualification is desirable.
• Strong ability to work with children and their parents.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the centre's programme.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress and progression.
• Assist in supervising swimmers and pool surroundings to ensure safety and discipline.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and genuine customer focus.

Requirements

• I ddysgu nofio i blant ac/neu oedolion fel rhan o raglen gwersi nofio'r Ganolfan Hamdden, yn unol â chymwysterau, hyfforddiant a phrofiad
• Cyfathrebu â rhieni/gwarcheidwaid y plant ynghylch eu datblygiad, a rhoi cyngor ar eu dilyniant drwy'r rhaglen
• Cynorthwyo i oruchwylio cwsmeriaid yn y pwll nofio a'r cyffiniau, gan sicrhau eu diogelwch a'u disgyblaeth
• Sgiliau cyfathrebu rhagorol gydag awydd gwirioneddol i weithio'n agos gyda chwsmeriaid.
• Y gallu i ddelio â phlant a'u rhieni
• Mae sgiliau iaith Gymraeg yn hanfodol
• Byddai cymhwyster dysgu nofio Lefel 2 yn ddymunol

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
• To communicate with the children’s parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
• An ability to deal with children and their parents
• Welsh Language is essential
• Level 2 swimming teaching qualification is desirable
• DBS check
