Job summary

The University of Leicester’s Division of Respiratory Sciences seeks a Clinical Research Fellow based at Glenfield Hospital to study biomarkers of airway hyperresponsiveness in asthma. Funded by the Midlands Asthma and Allergy Research Association, the project sits within the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre asthma service.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent and full GMC registration, MRCP (UK) or equivalent, with two years of Foundation training and Respiratory Medicine experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, data protection and Good Clinical Practice awareness.
• Experience in research through publications, conference presentations or academic training.

Responsibilities

• Screen, recruit and sample research participants before and after methacholine challenge.
• Support processing and recording of samples and study data; contribute to laboratory studies using omics methods.
• Analyze findings, present results, and prepare reports and manuscripts.
• Coordinate study governance and ethical requirements; support clinical care.
• Possibly supervise junior colleagues and present at meetings.
