Assurance Manager

The Role

The Assurance Manager will be responsible for planning the assurance, project compliance and managing the handover process whilst ensuring that the quality, safety, and technical standards are adhered to in accordance with the client’s requirements and the Asset Management Process (AMP) is completed and delivered in line with project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, advice, and support to the stakeholders on quality planning, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover in accordance with client requirements
  • Support the planning, development, and review of Quality Management Plans (QMPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) during project evaluation and planning phases
  • Track progress on assurance deliverables in line with work progressed and ensure that the teams are compliant with quality assurance (QA) and all hand back documentation
  • Perform site inspection and participate in risk identification, analysis and management processes whilst continually identifying and implementing improvement initiatives
  • Manage the project assurance and hand back process, from construction through to completion and asset acceptance and obtain necessary approvals when required
  • Create and manage plans to ensure project activities meet quality standards and client requirements
  • Direct Site Engineering teams to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Ensure all QA and Health and Safety documentation are compiled, reviewed, and submitted in compliance with the client standards
  • Liaise with the multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure that the project objectives and requirements are met
  • Oversee the Asset Management Process (AMP), ensuring that all asset information is correctly captured, formatted, and submitted to facilitate a smooth handover
  • Manage quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, identifying and resolving gaps in the documentation process
  • Support with audits and inspections as required by the client or regulatory authorities
  • Manage quality processes and assurance
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement through quality management
  • Undertake investigations and implement effective root cause analysis, and enable the identification of corrective actions
About you

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Experience in design and build contracts within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors
  • Previous experience working in a similar assurance, compliance or quality management role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with the site teams, clients and technical specialists
  • Experience with internal auditing techniques and methodologies

Desirable

  • Strong working knowledge of Network Rail and Transport for London (TfL) assurance and hand back processes
  • Proven knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements
