Job summary

A leading engineering services company in the UK seeks an Assurance Advisor to conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with quality management systems. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in auditing aligned to ISO standards, along with strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills. Qualifications

  • Experience conducting audits on consultancy and design projects in an Engineering Consultancy environment.
  • Knowledge of auditing to a management system aligned to ISO standards.
  • Possession of a recognized external audit qualification aligned with ISO 27001 or ISO 9001.

  • Conduct internal assurance audits according to the company's audit procedures.
  • Plan, execute, and document audits and close out findings.
  • Support auditees in closing out audit findings and sharing lessons learned.

Job description

Overview

The Assurance Advisor will hold a formal auditing qualification, preferably for ISO 27001 and or ISO 9001, and will deliver internal assurance audits across AtkinsRéalis. They are responsible for ensuring audits are conducted in line with AtkinsRéalis Internal Quality Audit Procedure and Management System. They must ensure audits, within their accountability, are appropriately planned, executed and findings are documented and closed out. They are an integral part of the AtkinsRéalis Global Audit Program and are expected to highlight service improvements and inform improved processes to enable better business performance.

The Assurance Advisor will work closely with auditee(s) (typically project managers) from preparation, through audit delivery and raising of non-conformances, to closing out findings and sharing lessons learned. They will be expected to raise awareness of the Company Management System requirements, Regional Procedures and to help drive a quality culture.

Your Role
  • Responsible for ensuring audits are conducted in line with AtkinsRéalis Audit Procedure and Management Systems and supporting teams through external audits by 3rd parties including accredited bodies and clients.
  • Must ensure audits, within their responsibility, are appropriately planned, executed and findings are documented and closed out.
  • Being an integral part of the AtkinsRéalis Audit Program and are expected to highlight service improvements and inform improved processes to enable better business performance.
  • Follow internal Assurance (including Quality and Security) audit procedures for audit planning, delivery and follow-up. Checking the audits of other Assurance Team auditors.
  • Delivering green, amber and red risk audits, process audits, and verification audits within defined key performance targets, set by the UK and Ireland Operations and Improvements Manager.
  • Supporting an auditee on the close out of findings. Provide enhanced understanding of the Management System to Auditees.
  • Participate in internal improvement projects associated with audit findings, management review and business change as directed by the UK and Ireland Operations and Improvements Manager.
  • Accountable for confidential treatment of records and information they have access to as part of their role as auditor.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to developing Internal Auditors. To lead where required or support the delivery of Root Cause Analysis.
  • Participate and contribute to the UKI Operations Team Operations Plan. Interpret and present audit reports to management when required.
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
  • Present data in both a written and presentation form to various levels of management.
  • Provide professional quality advice to support the business in delivering excellence.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, facilities management, Construction Management, Business Management, Engineering or Technical field required plus auditing experience in delivery, check and review. Master's degree preferred.
  • Must possess experience of conducting audits on consultancy and design projects preferably in an Engineering Consultancy environment.
  • Must possess knowledge and experience of auditing to a management system, aligned to ISO standards.
  • Must hold a recognized, external audit qualification/certification, aligned to Internal auditing, ISO 27001 and or ISO 9001.
  • Organised, articulate and analytical thinker. Excellent communicator, able to quickly build strong relationship and trust.
  • Eye for detail, able to structure reports to meet business needs and clearly able to prioritise and present conclusions in a compelling way.
  • Able to process large volumes of information, identify and differentiate critical information.
  • Able to actively listen and build on a conversation using sound question techniques.
  • A strong relationship builder, able to influence, at all levels, to ensure business engagement and support in implementing improvements.
  • You are not afraid of making decisions, can work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Experience in using problem-solving / root cause analysis techniques, i.e., 8D, 5 why.
  • Is a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to whatever their task or function.
