Job summary

We’re partnering with a growing and well‑regarded wealth management firm in Cambridge to hire an Associate Wealth Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early‑career professional looking to build a long‑term career in financial planning, with a clear pathway to becoming a qualified Financial Planner.

You’ll work closely with experienced advisors, gaining hands‑on exposure to client relationships, paraplanning, and the full advice process.

The Role

This is a development‑focused position combining client support and paraplanning responsibilities. You’ll play a key role in delivering strong client outcomes while building the technical knowledge and commercial awareness required to progress into an advisory role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a first point of contact for clients, handling queries and supporting ongoing relationships.
  • Coordinate client meetings, prepare valuation packs, and manage the diary.
  • Process new business, including onboarding, AML/CDD checks, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate client records using back‑office systems (e.g. XPlan).
  • Support post‑meeting follow‑ups and client communication.
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, and general administrative tasks.

Paraplanning duties will include

  • Conducting research to support financial planning recommendations.
  • Preparing suitability reports aligned to client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting cash‑flow modelling and financial calculations.
  • Drafting technical and client‑facing documentation.
About You
  • Degree educated (minimum 2:1 preferred).
  • Strong interest in financial planning and wealth management.
  • Working towards or committed to completing the Level 4 Diploma (CII).
  • Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
