Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Water Team in the South of England with a flexible hybrid working model across Aldgate, Croydon, St Albans, Basingstoke or Exeter locations.

The role focuses on electrical and ICA design for water infrastructure, with responsibilities spanning feasibility through commissioning, client relationship management, and team leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional institution is preferred.
• Proven ability to produce, review, and approve engineering reports, designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and line-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and review electrical and ICA elements for water/wastewater projects.
• Deliver feasibility studies, outline, detailed design, and commissioning support.
• Maintain high technical quality and contribute to bids and client relationships.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to targets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to implement solutions.

We're looking for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our growing Water Team , with the opportunity to be based at one of our offices in the South of England (Aldgate, Croydon, St Albans, Basingstoke or Exeter locations), whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and ICA Design : Undertake the design and review of electrical and ICA elements in wastewater and water infrastructure and treatment projects, and offer advice, where necessary in a technical expert role.
• Delivery: Feasibility studies, outline and detailed design, and construction / commissioning support.
• Quality : Ensure high technical quality, contribute to bids, and maintain client relationships.
• Project Management: Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to meet agreed targets.
• Collaborate: With multidisciplinary teams and with clients and stakeholders to buy in to solutions, also contributing to AECOM's wider technical capability and innovative approach.
• Leadership: Manage direct reports, inspire technical excellence, and support the growth of fellow engineers.

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment.
• Chartered Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
