Job description

Associate Strategic Growth Managers (2 x Positions)
Interviews for Shortlisted Candidates from w/c 7th September
Help deliver the next chapter of Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester is entering a new era of devolution, investment and growth.

As we continue to expand our ambitious Integrated Pipeline of housing, regeneration and economic development projects, we are growing our Delivery Team and looking for two talented and motivated Associate Strategic Growth Managers to join us.

These are exciting opportunities to work directly alongside Greater Manchester's local authorities, supporting the development and delivery of some of the city-region's most important growth and regeneration projects. Working at the heart of GMCA's Place Directorate, you will help unlock new homes, jobs and investment, ensuring projects have the support, funding and partnerships they need to progress from concept to delivery.

Working alongside the Good Growth Fund, Greater Manchester's flagship investment programme, the Delivery Team plays a critical role in helping projects access funding, expertise and wider public sector support at the right time. You will work closely with local authority partners, developers, Homes England, government departments and colleagues from across GMCA to drive delivery and maximise impact across the city-region.

About the Role

As an Associate Strategic Growth Manager, you will act as a key relationship manager for one or more Greater Manchester local authorities, working directly with project teams and partners to progress strategic development opportunities within the Integrated Pipeline. You will help shape delivery strategies, coordinate support from across GMCA and the wider public sector, and provide practical solutions to overcome barriers to delivery.

Key responsibilities
  • Support a portfolio of housing, regeneration and employment development projects across Greater Manchester.
  • Build strong working relationships with local authority partners and act as a strategic point of contact for growth projects.
  • Help projects access funding, capacity and support, including opportunities through the Good Growth Fund and wider GMCA programmes.
  • Support the delivery of Mayoral Development Corporations, Mayoral Development Zones and other innovative delivery vehicles.
  • Work with public and private sector partners to identify delivery solutions, manage risks and accelerate project progression.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and recommendations for senior leaders and governance boards.
About You

We are looking for people who are passionate about place-making and development and who thrive in collaborative, partnership-based environments.

You will bring:

  • Experience of supporting the development and delivery of housing, regeneration, infrastructure or property development projects.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships and influence a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of development finance, funding and investment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A commitment to collaboration, public service and delivering positive outcomes for communities across Greater Manchester.

If you want to play a hands-on role in delivering Greater Manchester's growth ambitions and help bring forward the next generation of transformational projects, we'd love to hear from you.
