Job description

Associate Scientific Director - Ashfield MedComms UK

We are excited to have a new Associate Scientific Director vacancy to add to a global, established medical affairs and commercial team with a leading client. The role is focused on HIV treatment and pre‑exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), covering our client’s entire portfolio of products as well as their exciting pipeline assets. The work is varied, team‑oriented and fast paced, with opportunities to get involved in client strategy, commercial and medical affairs work, scientific content and meetings support.

The account team is sizeable, and organised into smaller specialised groups for efficient and day‑to‑day working. The entire team is collaborative, supportive and friendly, based primarily in the UK centred but with members in multiple locations internationally.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about med communications, enjoys the friendly and fast‑paced environment, and is experienced in the delivery of meetings, workshops and educational materials. You will also have responsibilities for coaching and reviewing the work of junior team members, to ensure high standards and ongoing personal development. You may have some line management responsibility, which can become a focus of your role later if that is a strength.

The assets we work on have transformed the HIV landscape and we’re proud of the work we do; your care for high‑quality scientific content to support these products will be invaluable. You will work closely with colleagues and directly with clients as a trusted expert, with the opportunity to build long lasting relationships, develop best‑in‑class content, and support the continued growth of the account.

You will be able to build a thorough understanding of HIV and client and competitor strategy, contributing to conversations with senior team and clients to ensure your teams success. You should have a commitment to quality, applying a sense of energy to all you do, and maintaining a positive attitude in team, unit and agency life.

Application Process

To begin an application, please apply via the appropriate link on this page. Selected candidates will first complete an informal ‘screening’ call to ensure the position is suitable before proceeding.

This role can be based remotely within the United Kingdom, or at our office locations such as Macclesfield, Manchester & London. Hybrid working is available as an option.

Please note – this role is only suitable for those who live in the United Kingdom. Given the nature of the work, only those with successful experience in a medical communications agency (or similar) can be considered for this position.

Our company is dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you’re excited about this role, but your experience doesn’t perfectly fit every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right person for this role or others.
