Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is advertising an Associate Respiratory CNS development post within the acute trust. The post is supported by a senior respiratory CNS to ensure progression toward a senior Respiratory CNS, and will provide high‑quality specialist respiratory nursing advice, education and supervision for in‑patients while supporting ward staff.

Qualifications

• Developmental post supported by a senior CNS.
• Provides specialist respiratory nursing advice, education, and supervision.
• Coordinates care for respiratory in-patients and supports ward staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate complex respiratory care for in-patients (asthma, COPD, ILD, sleep-related breathing disorders).
• Ensure appropriate care packages and discharge planning in line with national guidance.
• Outpatient work in Sleep Apnoea and Home Ventilation; deputising as needed.
