Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join an award-winning building and construction consultancy based on the outskirts of Manchester, with free on-site parking. Occasional travel to regional offices may be required.

About the Role - Associate Quantity Surveyor

As an Associate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key supporting role in delivering projects across various sectors including Residential, Social Housing, Education, Heritage, and Local Authority. Working closely with senior team members and clients, you will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

This role combines technical delivery with client interaction, offering progression and exposure to a range of project types.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare cost plans and budget estimates
  • Manage procurement, administer contracts, and assist in resolving disputes
  • Oversee cost control processes and ensure value for money
  • Identify and manage project risks
  • Lead value engineering exercises where appropriate
  • Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to team development
Requirements
  • MRICS accreditation in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience supporting or acting as an Employer's Agent
  • Ability to manage small teams or junior staff under supervision
  • Strong commercial awareness and technical capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
