This role requires depth in cost planning, contract administration, and commercial management. Ideal candidates have a degree in Quantity Surveying, MRICS, and 3-10 years of relevant experience, particularly in Build-to-Rent or Purpose-Built Student Accommodation sectors.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Associate / Executive QS with experience in Build-to-Rent (BtR) or Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA). This role offers exposure to high-profile, multi-million-pound residential and student accommodation projects, working across cost planning, contract administration, and commercial management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for BtR/PBSA projects.
  • Prepare BoQs, estimates, cost reports, and manage final accounts.
  • Administer contracts, manage variations, valuations, and interim payments.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Build strong client relationships and support business development.
  • Identify risk, value-engineering opportunities, and ensure projects remain on budget.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • MRICS or equivalent; 3-10 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Consultancy experience, ideally in high-value residential, BtR, or PBSA projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
  • Confident managing projects from feasibility through to final account.
  • Proficiency in CostX and MS Office.
