Job summary

A leading construction consultancy in Greater London is seeking an experienced professional to lead cost management and commercial services. The role involves managing key client relationships while overseeing financial reports, procurement strategies, and contract administration. Ideal candidates will have strong commercial experience in the built environment sectors and should be proactive and delivery-focused. A clear pathway for progression is offered along with a competitive salary range of £75,000 - £90,000 based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost management and commercial services from feasibility through to final account.
  • Take ownership of key client relationships and act as a trusted commercial advisor.
  • Prepare and review cost plans, estimates, budgets, and financial reports.

Skills

Strong commercial experience within the office, fit out, PBSA, and/or wider built environment sectors
Client-facing, communication, and reporting skills
Sound understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration
Proactive, commercially minded, and delivery focused

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cost management and commercial services from feasibility through to final account.
  • Take ownership of key client relationships and act as a trusted commercial advisor.
  • Prepare and review cost plans, estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
  • Lead procurement strategies, tender processes, and contractor appointments.
  • Oversee contract administration, change control, and final account settlement.
  • Manage commercial risk, cash flow, and value optimisation across projects.
  • Support and mentor junior surveyors within the team.
  • Contribute to business development and workload planning where required.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong commercial experience within the office, fit out, PBSA, and/or wider built environment sectors.
  • Previous experience working within a construction consultancy environment.
  • Sound understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Experience working under standard forms of contract (JCT/NEC).
  • Strong client-facing, communication, and reporting skills.
  • MRICS (or working towards) preferred.
  • Proactive, commercially minded, and delivery focused.
