Job summary

TP ICAP is seeking a junior engineer to join the Global Analytics team working on the Price Discovery platform used by broking desks worldwide. You’ll work with C++, C#, and Python to develop and maintain broking screens and data pipelines, while learning financial concepts and the market’s operations from experienced colleagues.

As part of a hybrid London team, you’ll own small projects, contribute to reusable libraries, and help move analytics into robust services.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.
• Demonstrable programming ability in at least one of C++, C#, or Python.
• A builder mindset: deliver, iterate, and move fast.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and asking questions to move things forward.
• Self-starter who engages with tasks of all sizes, from quick fixes to larger projects.
• Genuine curiosity about how things work, in financial markets and codebase.
• Clear, direct communication.

Responsibilities

• Create, enhance, and support broking screens across multiple asset classes
• Support existing systems and data pipelines, fix production issues, and identify improvements
• Learn how financial markets operate from the screens, the broking desks, and colleagues
• Own and drive projects to completion, delivering high-quality results
• Contribute to moving analytics out of screen cells into reusable library functions and documenting pricing logic
• Contribute to building micro-services that translate business requirements into deployable components
• Contribute to optimising and streamlining how screens are developed and deployed
• Contribute to improving search and data retrieval capabilities to support data sales requirements
• Leverage AI tools and modern development workflows to accelerate your own work and the team’s output
• A pure research or quant modelling position. You will learn financial concepts, but the day-to-day is engineering
• A role where every task comes with a detailed specification. You will often need to figure out the “how” yourself
• A passive role, as we need someone who looks for problems to solve, not someone who waits to be told what to do

Role Overview

The Global Analytics team builds and maintains the Price Discovery platform used by the broking desks globally to generate, calculate, and distribute market data to clients. Our work spans Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, FX Derivatives, Energy, and Commodities.

Much of the day-to-day centres on an in-house Excel-like application, backed by C++ and C# libraries, where broking screens are developed and maintained. As a junior member of the team, you will have experienced colleagues around you to guide you through the financial domain and the platform.
