Job summary

Vortexa is seeking a product management professional to help shape and deliver our market-leading analytics platform for energy markets. You will own the product discovery process, coordinate across product, design, engineering and go-to-market teams, and align roadmap with strategic objectives.

The role emphasizes rapid learning, data-driven decisions, and a strong customer focus. You will work in a flexible hybrid setup, contributing to a fast-growing scale-up that values experimentation,

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in product discovery and delivery for B2B data and analytics.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools and experimenting with new tools for better product outcomes.
  • Familiarity with energy commodities markets or similar trading/financial markets.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and refine the product roadmap for flows and onshore inventory products.
  • Identify and prioritise customer problems and product ideas to drive business value.
  • Use AI to mix quantitative analytics with qualitative feedback across channels and competitors.
  • Run rapid product discovery and prototype tests with SMEs, customers and prospects.
  • Track success metrics and KPIs, identify gaps and propose optimisations.
  • Define clear user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities, and collaborate with engineers to build and release.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, product marketing and customer success for timely delivery and go-to-market of new products.

Ingesting thousands of rich data points per second from multiple external vastly different data sources, moving terabytes of data while processing it in real-time, running complex and complicated prediction and forecasting AI models while coupling their output into a hybrid human-machine data refinement process and presenting the result through a nimble low-latency SaaS platform used by customers around the globe is no small feat of science and engineering.

As answering the most fundamental and intricate questions posed by traders, analysts, charterers, hedge funds and other global oil trade market participants involves an unprecedented amount of sophistication and effort, the job of ensuring that the right questions are asked and answered in the right order, to the utmost customer delight comes to the forefront.

Vortexadelivers top-notch high-quality data and market predictions through a frictionless analytics platform, consisting of intuitive front-end applications, an API and SDK. The Product Management departmentis responsible forleading collaborative product discovery and delivery to ensure the products we build are valuable and usable by customers, technicallyfeasibleand commerciallyviable. For each product, the team ensures alignment with stakeholders on the vision,strategyand roadmap, leading the company to focus its efforts on the right functionality at the right time with clarity over the scope and KPIs.

You will join our Product Management team asanindividual contributor, and reporting to the Head of Product Strategy, with multiple interfaces outside of R&D. Together with the wider Product Management and Design team you will work to ensure we continue to provide a market leading analytics platform and build an intelligent energy market.

You will:
  • Execute and refinethe product roadmap for flows and onshore inventory products (crude and refined products),aligned with the product vision and strategy
  • Continuouslyidentifyand prioritisecustomer problemsand product ideas, enduring Vortexa's product efforts focuson high-value areas that makesignificantimpact on the businessobjectives.
  • Use AI tools to combine quantitative platform analytics with qualitativecustomer feedback across channelsand competitor insightson a regular cadence toidentifysignals and implement the product lifecycle faster and better, from ideation, rapid prototyping/product discovery through build and post-launch growth.
  • Implementrapidproduct discoveryand prototype tests, including gathering feedback andvalidation from subject matter experts,customersand prospects.
  • Be responsible fortracking the defined success metrics and KPIs,identifyinghits and misses and recommendingoptions tooptimise the outcomesor pivot.
  • Own thedetails including defining clear requirementson user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities,andworking closely with technical product manager and engineers topromptly addressquestions, resolve issuesand remove blockers to build and release.
  • Collaborate with technical product managers, design, engineering, productmarketingand customer success teams to ensuretimelyand effective deliveryand go to marketof new products,featuresand improvements.

Requirements

You Are:

  • Ambitious and eager to develop your product management career in a fast-growing scale-up, with 1-2 years of relevantexperience inproduct discovery and delivery forB2Bdata andanalytics.
  • Adept at utilising AItools andexperimenting with new tools and use cases to enable faster and better product outcomes.
  • Familiar with, or at least aware of energy commodities markets or similar trading or financial markets with proven learningtrack record.
  • Data-driven with a customer focus. Customers are at the heart of what you do, and you canidentifyandvalidatethe customer problems worth solving, explain your rationale with dataand use it to measure success.
  • Resourceful and creative with tools to build and iterate data prototypesquickly,collaborating with go-to-market stakeholders todirectlyengage target customers and run rapid product discovery.
  • Passionate about building market-leading and category-defining products, tackling genuinely transformative challenges hands-on.
  • Always learning with a self-driven "can-do" attitude.You arenot afraid to roll up your sleeves and learn new skills to unblock a team. "I've done my bit" has no place atVortexa.
  • Familiar with SVPG teachings, North Star, JTBD, RICE, Kano, GISTmodelsand otherevolvingtools of the trade.

  • Able to use ROI calculations and apply analytical rigour to prioritisation recommendations.
