Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Associate Paediatric Practice Education Nurse to lead education and staff development across paediatric units. You will work clinically, delivering high-quality training and supporting practice development within HDU, general paediatrics and surgical wards.
You’ll deliver practical skills teaching, run simulation-based education, and support junior staff and students, guiding them through PDPs and competency progression.
Are you an experienced senior paediatric nurse with a passion for staff development and education? West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH) is excited to announce an opportunity for a registered children's nurse to join the paediatric clinical education team as an Associate Paediatric Practice Education Nurse. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the education and training of our paediatric nursing teams, playing a key part in enhancing patient care and promoting professional development within our high dependency, general paediatrics and surgical wards. As an Associate Paediatric Practice Education Nurse, you will work clinically with teams at ward and department level, implementing quality improvement initiatives, innovations in practice, and supporting the delivery of high quality care within our inpatient paediatric services. You will bring proven clinical expertise in paediatric high dependency care, general paediatric care or surgical care, with significant experience working at senior staff nurse level. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of our paediatric nursing teams, helping to shape the future of paediatric care at WLCH.
Your role will involve delivering education in clinical practice, ensuring it meets the needs of the paediatric nursing workforce. You will work closely with the critical care paediatric clinical education team to support the delivery of key training objectives aligned to workforce needs, specifically within long-term ventilation and high dependency care.
As an expert practitioner and role model, you will support the development of a workforce capable of delivering safe, high-quality care to children and young people. This includes leading the delivery of "hot topic" training sessions in response to the clinical needs of the units, as well as supporting the preceptorship of newly qualified nurses as they transition into registered practice and develop essential competencies.
In addition, you will deliver practical skills teaching and simulation-based education across paediatrics, enhancing clinical competence and ensuring nursing teams are equipped to provide the highest standard of care.
