Associate or Senior Associate - MEP
Science and Research
London
About The Role

We have a brand‑new opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Science and Research team in our London office. You can be mechanically or electrically biased.

It is an exciting time to join our Science and Research team. We have a proven track record working within the sector delivering projects ranging from speculative commercial laboratory fit‑outs for large developers to working with higher education and institutional end‑users at the forefront of industry research. Working alongside a range of specialist engineers and consultants, you will be joining a collaborative, knowledgeable, highly engaged team who love what they do, and offer a supportive, flexible, and high‑performing work culture.

The role has three strands: project leadership, team leadership, and work winning. Strengthening our leadership in these three areas is a key need in our succession plan and will lead to further career opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the day‑to‑day technical delivery of the electrical or mechanical design services for multi‑disciplinary projects across the Science and Research sectors.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery. This is a client‑facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating / translating the brief within the project team.
  • Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
  • Mentor and support our ‘next gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
About You

We are looking for someone who can inspire, with strong leadership and communication skills to help drive the sector and the office forward, contribute to strategy and continue to build on the culture and sense of team created.

As an Associate or Senior Associate, you will be responsible for helping run the team and the office, leading by example and continuing to deliver excellence in your chosen discipline.

The role is instrumental in helping to continue to grow and develop an integrated team of high achievers, as well as seeking new opportunities to develop the business within the Science and Research sector.

To Be Successful In This Role You’ll Need
  • Proven experience working as an Associate or Senior Associate Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
  • Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
  • Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors / architects in a design‑oriented / consultant role.
  • Self‑awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
  • Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
