About the role

We have a brand‑new opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer based in our Leeds office, focused on healthcare buildings. Located in the heart of the city, you will have access to local and wider opportunities. We are transforming healthcare facilities to create patient‑centred environments that support recovery. Your remit will cover a range of healthcare projects, from local health and social care centres to large‑scale medical campuses.

As an Associate or Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will lead large‑scale, complex projects, manage stakeholder expectations, monitor and report metrics and motivate teams to achieve their best.

Key responsibilities
  • Client‑facing role, attending project meetings and disseminating the brief within the project team; a personable and communicative nature is essential.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts, ensuring solutions align with the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery either alone or as part of a team.
  • Engage with junior staff, offering guidance to develop their skills.
  • Work within the firm‑wide group to share knowledge and support others.
  • Help monitor expenditure and resources with the team leader.
  • Explore innovative ways of working and conduct research to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Maintain a strong reputation in the industry, ensuring adherence to quality management and risk control procedures.
About you
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer (or closely related role) delivering complex projects in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary environments, with excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients.
  • Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD and relevant design software.
  • Self‑aware, open‑minded and generous in spirit.
  • Familiar with relevant British Standards.
  • Previous consultancy experience and appreciation for complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering and computer modelling.
