Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate or Associate Director in Landscape Architecture & Landscape Planning to join our Birmingham, Shrewsbury or Nottingham team. You will lead on landscape & urban design projects, author assessments, and manage client workshops within a collaborative UK&I environment.

You will contribute to bids, mentor junior staff, and help grow client relationships across public and private sectors while promoting innovation and high-quality design. A hybrid work model is available.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent.
  • Postgraduate Diploma / Masters in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent.
  • Established track record authoring Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments.
  • Experience delivering landscape and urban design projects from site analysis to construction information.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Fluent English with excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, author and coordinate Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments.
  • Lead on design projects, including urban realm and mixed-use developments, through LI/RIBA stages in BIM Level 2 environment.
  • Support development of client relationships in public and private sectors.
  • Prepare bids from small to complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Lead, manage and delegate project work to junior team members.
  • Client facing role, involving design advice, leading workshops and stakeholder events.
  • Join internal multi-disciplinary groups promoting innovation and thought leadership.

We are seeking suitably qualified Associate or Associate Director Landscape Architect & Landscape Planners with a diverse track record to join our Birmingham, Shrewsbury or Nottingham Landscape & Urban Design team. We are a passionate and motivated team with offices in all regions of the UK and Ireland. We value integrity and professionalism aligned with creativity and vision and as part of the UK and Ireland Environment business, the successful candidate will join a diverse, collaborative team and work alongside colleagues across the UK and Ireland.

  • Being an integral part of a vibrant, ambitious and friendly team.
  • As a Landscape Planner you would lead, author and co-ordinate Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments.
  • In a Landscape Architect role you would lead on design projects, including urban realm and mixed-use developments, through all LI/RIBA stages, generally working in a BIM level 2 environment.
  • Support the continued development of our relationships with existing and new clients in public and private sectors.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
  • Degree level qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent.
  • Postgraduate Diploma / Masters qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent.
  • Established track record authoring Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments.
  • Established track record successfully delivering landscape and urban design projects, from initial site analysis and concept design through to detailed design including the production of information for planning and construction.
  • Excellent technical skills and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Fluent spoken English with excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
