A public healthcare provider in Launceston seeks an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to lead Paediatric inpatient services. Responsibilities include coordinating care, supporting staff, and enhancing patient flow. Candidates must be registered nurses with strong clinical expertise and excellent communication skills. The Paediatric ward at the Launceston General Hospital plays a vital role within the Department of Health by providing safe, specialised and family centred inpatient care, and supporting for infants, children and young persons across the North of Tasmania. As part of the Tasmanian Health service, the Wombat Ward supports the Emergency and Outpatients services closely working together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce and the Tasmanian community.
As Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide clinical and operational leadership across Paediatric inpatient services at the Launceston General Hospital.
Strong Clinical expertise in Paediatrics, with the ability to provide clinical leadership and work with minimal supervision. Commitment to Paediatric and family-centred values and needs.
Able to coordinate bed management, staffing, patient flow, discharge planning, and resource management within a contemporary healthcare framework. Ability to support staff with complex clinical decision-making and safe patient flow.
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with young people, families and the multidisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of clinical risk, safety and quality systems, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Additionally, it provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites.

Fixed term part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 19 September 2026. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

$106,570 to $112,440 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
