A leading health service provider in Irvine seeks an experienced Associate Nurse Director/Lead Nurse for Mental Health. In this role, you will lead the delivery of person-centered mental health services and ensure clinical effectiveness. Applicants should have a current nursing qualification, a master's degree, and significant managerial experience in the NHS. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Nurse Director/Lead Nurse – Mental Health within our North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership based at Cunninghame House, Irvine KA12 8EE.
37 hours worked Monday to Friday. On call requirement of twice/month covering overnight (5pm-9am) and/or weekends/public holidays (9am-9pm). This post is offered on a permanent basis.
This post is for Associate Nurse Director for Mental Health Service and the Lead Nurse for NAHSCP. The most senior nurse within the Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and a key member of the Integrated Joint Board, the HSCP Senior Management Team and NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s NMHAP Professional Leadership Group. The post holder will undertake a lead professional role on behalf of the NAHSCP Director and Nurse Director in the delivery of pan-Ayrshire Mental Health Services as well as Lead Nurse for NAHSCP. The Associate Nurse Director has a lead professional role on behalf of the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership Director and Nurse Director in the delivery of pan-Ayrshire and NAHSCP services; for example –Mental Health Services ensuring the delivery of person centred, safe, effective and efficient pan- Ayrshire Services. The post holder has strategic and operational leadership responsibility for ensuring the delivery of person centred, safe and effective nursing services and clinical practice within NAHSCP, including commissioning arrangements, providing direction and guidance on professional issues by establishing effective clinical and care governance arrangements, developing policy and establishing an effective and highly skilled nursing workforce to meet the needs of the Ayrshire & Arran population, in accordance with the CNO 2030 Vision, the Healthcare Quality Strategy, Excellence for Ayrshire, Caring for Ayrshire and NAHSCP Strategy.

The successful candidate will have good knowledge of quality management theory and systems, transformation, change and innovation theory and methodologies – with evidence of putting these into practice successfully. Further, they will be able to demonstrate a significant track record of success in the management of service improvement, in the delivery and monitoring of high quality standards of care, in the planning and delivery of successful organisational change and in proactive partnership working internal and external to the NHS. They will also have a high level of performance in the leadership behaviours identified as crucial within NHS Scotland such as: working in partnership, learning and development, caring for staff, improving performance through team working, communicating effectively, improving quality and achieving results and a detailed understanding of clinical best practice and policy.
