Job summary

Jefferies, a leading global investment bank, is seeking an Associate to join its M&A team in London to work on high-profile cross-border transactions across sectors for corporates, private equity firms and sponsors.

You will participate in deal execution, build and review financial models (DCF, LBO, comps), prepare client materials, coordinate due diligence and mentor junior colleagues; you will work closely with senior bankers to originate new business.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant investment banking experience.
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation techniques.
  • Experience managing multiple live transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Execute M&A transactions, buy-side/sell-side mandates, strategic advisory, and defence assignments

JOB DESCRIPTION

Jefferies is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team in London. The role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of high-profile, cross-border transactions across multiple sectors, advising corporates, private equity firms, and financial sponsors.

Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in deal execution, working senior bankers to originate new business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side mandates, strategic advisory, and defence assignments
  • Lead the preparation of financial models (DCF, LBO, trading comps, transaction comps) and valuation analyses
  • Develop and review high-quality client materials, including pitch books, IMs, management presentations, and board materials
  • Coordinate due diligence processes and manage data rooms, advisors, and client interactions
  • Support senior bankers in client relationship management and business development efforts
  • Supervise and mentor Analysts, ensuring accuracy and quality of deliverables
  • Stay abreast of market developments, sector trends, and comparable transactions
Qualifications & Experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant investment banking experience, preferably within an M&A team at a top-tier bank or advisory firm
  • Strong technical skills, with advanced proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniques
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple workstreams across live transactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
