Job summary

University of Worcester seeks an Associate Lecturer for the PGCE Secondary Mathematics programme. The role focuses on delivering teaching, supervision during trainee placements, and contributing to assessment and development of the PGCE mathematics module.

The appointee will also prepare and deliver a 10‑minute presentation on inclusive learning in Key Stage 3 mathematics and engage in selection activities as required.

Associate Lecturer - PGCE Secondary Mathematics

The University of Worcester (UW) has a reputation for its high quality and innovative provision in Education. As an ‘Outstanding’ (March 23) provider of Initial Teacher Education (ITE) across all our provision, we are nationally recognised for our overall quality and high sustained employment rates of our trainee teachers. Maths is a well-established subject in our PGCE Secondary portfolio, this is an exciting opportunity for a subject specialist in mathematics to join our team as an Associate Lecturer. In this context, the Institute of Education is seeking to appoint an inspirational and excellent subject specialist. The successful applicant will have responsibility for contributing to teaching on the PGCE mathematics programme and carrying out visits to trainees in their placement settings.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a formal panel interview.

You will also be asked to deliver a 10-minute presentationbased on the following question;

‘What makes inclusivelearning and teaching in mathematics at Key Stage 3?’

The presentation will be followed by questions from the panel.
