Job summary

Job description

Associate Lecturer in Medical Pharmacology

This post is essential to ensure high-quality, consistent delivery of core medical/healthcare curriculum content and compliance with the General Medical Council (GMC) in Pharmacology and Prescribing. This is particularly essential for the training of medical students who require a high level of knowledge in medical pharmacology and prescribing to pass the medical licensing assessment (MLA) and prescribing safely assessment (PSA) as required by the General Medical Council (GMC).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the interim delivery of the Medical Pharmacology and Prescribing on the MBChB and MSc PA courses. You will be responsible for designing and developing learning materials and will make a significant contribution to lectures, practical teaching and the assessment for medical students, as well as contributing to the delivery of a high-quality student experience, working with the Phase Lead.

Ideally you will already have experience of teaching medical students or similar.

  • Rate of pay of £41.19 per hour inc. preparation, marking & course administration plus £9.06 per hour holiday pay. *If an element of work is offered which doesn’t involve additional preparation and administration a standard hourly rate will apply, currently £20.10 plus £4.42 holiday pay.
