Job summary

Taunton College is seeking a motivated hairdressing tutor to work with learners progressing through hairdressing qualifications. This part-time casual hours role focuses on supporting teaching and helping students achieve timely progress.

You will join a friendly team, adapt to varying learner needs, and may take on pastoral duties as a personal tutor to help students prepare for employment or further study in Somerset.

Qualifications

• Experience in hairdressing industry and teaching is preferred.
• Ability to support a range of learners and levels.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with learners that are taking hairdressing qualifications at Taunton College and being part of our growing offer for young people and adults.

This is a part time casual hours position.

The post-holder will be motivated and enthusiastic and a strong team player who strives to deliver the best possible outcomes for our learners by maximising their potential to make positive progress towards timely success. The ideal candidate will have industry experience and can add variety to our beauty offer here at Taunton and be flexible in their approach to adapt to the various levels and needs of learners. You will be expected to support a highly effective teaching, learning and assessment experience across allocated courses, programmes and subjects and be part of a successful team of staff to contribute to the college’s expectations of quality.

This role could also include pastoral support for learners through being a personal tutor as well as academic teaching, learning and assessment. This post would suit a current practitioner that is enthusiastic about the role of education in supporting young people to become ready for employment or progression to further study and supporting Somerset to grow our own workers for the future in our sector.
