Hines Europe is looking to hire an Associate into the Investment Management team, primarily to work on Hines European Property Partners (HEPP), Hines' open ended, diversified core plus fund in Europe. HEPP currently has approximately EUR 2.0 billion of GAV across 23 investments in 9 countries. The role offers broad exposure across a sizeable pan European portfolio and the opportunity to work as part of a highly collaborative Fund Management team at the centre of investment decision making, portfolio strategy and investor engagement for the Fund. The role is based in London and reports to the Fund Manager.

Responsibilities

As an Associate within the Fund Management team, you will support the Fund Manager in the day-to-day management of the Fund, contributing across capital raising, investment decision making, portfolio management and investor communications. Working closely with the Fund Management team, you will help drive fund-level initiatives, evaluate investment opportunities and support strategic decision making throughout the investment lifecycle.

The Associate serves as a key link between the Fund Management team and the wider Hines platform, working closely with investment and asset management teams across Europe to ensure investment decisions, portfolio initiatives and investor deliverables are aligned with the Fund's strategy and objectives. Reporting to the Fund Manager and working closely with senior members of the Fund Management team, the Associate's responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating investment opportunities by analysing underwriting, key assumptions, risk and return, portfolio fit, strategic alignment and fund-level implications, and contributing to Investment Committee recommendations.

  • Supporting the development and execution of portfolio strategy by reviewing business plans, evaluating strategic asset management initiatives and monitoring portfolio performance against the Fund's objectives.

  • Undertaking fund-level analysis, including portfolio construction, liquidity management, capital allocation, performance and risk, to inform strategic decision making.

  • Supporting capital raising activities, including coordinating investor due diligence requests, overseeing the preparation of fundraising materials and investor presentations, and responding to investor information requests.

  • Coordinating the preparation and review of periodic investor reporting, due diligence questionnaires and other investor communications, ensuring consistency, accuracy and timely delivery.

  • Coordinating cross-functional workstreams relating to acquisitions, disposals, financings and other strategic portfolio initiatives.

  • Supporting Fund governance processes, including Investment Committee, Advisory Committee and other internal approval processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Mathematics or another highly analytical discipline.

  • Relevant investment experience, preferably within a real estate private equity firm, real estate investment manager or similar principal investment environment. Candidates with relevant investment banking or other investment experience will also be considered.

  • Typically 3 or more years of relevant professional experience, with flexibility on level depending on the candidate's experience, capabilities and potential.

  • Exceptional financial and quantitative skills, with a strong understanding of real estate underwriting, financial modelling and investment returns.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interrogate financial analysis, challenge assumptions and develop an independent perspective.

  • Strong commercial judgement and understanding of real estate investment fundamentals.

  • Ability to distil complex financial and strategic issues and communicate conclusions clearly and effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Proactive and self‑motivated, with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across teams, functions and geographies.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
