Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall RLB is looking for an Associate Fire Engineer in London to join our multi-disciplinary team providing fire safety guidance to clients.

You will assist in managing a team of consultants, offer fire consultancy services, and ensure compliance with fire safety standards. The role offers hybrid working arrangements, competitive salary, and benefits including private healthcare and continuous development programs.

Role Overview

Due to our growing and diverse portfolio, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Fire Engineer to join us in London. This position is part of a well‑established multi‑disciplinary team that provides fire safety guidance and advice to clients in both the public and private sectors.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist or manage a team of fire consultants
• Provide advice to the Partner
• Assist in the completion of PQQ/bid documents
• Provide quality assurance and compliance to the clients
• Visit sites to deliver fire consultancy services
• Provide fire advice, guidance and training across the client base
• Liaise with Enforcing Authorities on behalf of clients when required
• Advise clients on matters of fire safety standards and best practice affecting their business
• Develop the fire consultancy service and assist in providing management financial reporting

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive approach, delivers customer service excellence, and achieves good commercial results. The candidate should be passionate about fire safety and strive to provide the utmost quality on every commission.

Qualifications

• Level 5 minimum qualification achieved in Fire Discipline

Experience

• Robust knowledge of UK fire safety legislation
• Strong technical delivery experience
• Membership of IFE / IFSM or equivalent
• Ability to successfully direct and manage complex projects proactively and diligently
• Track record in line management and development of team members
• Experience in developing new relationships and securing new business
• Client‑facing, ensuring high standards of technical delivery
• Ability to build long‑term client relationships
• Experience of prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines
• Team player, outgoing, flexible and motivated
