Role – Associate Fire Engineer
Lead the production of fee proposals, fire strategy reports and specialist technical documentation.
- Attend client meetings, oversee site surveys and provide clear, authoritative fire strategy advice.
- Review architectural drawings to identify approval risks, design challenges and opportunities to enhance value.
- Carry out evacuation time calculations and Means of Escape analysis.
- Oversee computational evacuation modelling and ensure technical outputs are robust.
- Complete and verify advanced fire engineering calculations including radiant heat, smoke control and occupant evacuation.
- Provide third party reviews and design verification.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and building standards.
- Mentor engineers at all levels, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Contribute to leadership discussions, business planning and strategic objectives.
- Play an active role in maintaining a positive, collaborative and high-performing company culture.

Key Requirements – Associate Fire Engineer
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum five years' experience within Fire Safety Engineering, ideally already operating at or close to Associate level.
- IFE membership (MIFireE or AIFireE).
- Strong understanding of ADB, BS 9999 and BS 9991.
- Demonstrable experience developing and delivering fire engineered solutions for the built environment, including complex projects.
- Experience leading project teams or mentoring junior engineers.
